Solar Panel Cleaning in Grapevine

We clean your panels with purified water and soft brushes, never pressure or harsh soap, so the glass and its coating stay intact. You get a set arrival window, a call if anything shifts, and a short note on what we saw up there.

What a Proper Cleaning Does for Your System

Solar glass collects a film you rarely notice from the ground: fine dust, spring pollen, sap and bird droppings. Most of it is thin, but droppings and sap sit in one spot and shade the cells beneath them. A panel cleaning removes that layer gently so the sun reaches the cells again.

We work with deionized water because ordinary tap water in North Texas leaves mineral spots as it dries, and those spots scatter light much like the dirt did. Brushes are soft-bristled and made for coated glass. Nothing abrasive touches the surface.

Cleaning is also a chance to look closely. If we see a cracked panel, a loose wire or signs of animals under the array, we photograph it and tell you plainly. We are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, and we would rather point out a real issue than sell you one that isn't there.

What Your Visit Includes

Purified-water rinse
Deionized water dries clear, so there's no squeegee work and no spotting left behind on the glass.
Soft-brush wash
We loosen buildup with soft brushes on extension poles, working panel by panel. Stubborn droppings get a second pass rather than more pressure.
Frame and edge attention
Dirt tends to collect along the lower edge of each frame where rain runs off. We clear that line so it doesn't creep up onto the cells.
Visual check of the array
While we're up there we look at the glass, the frames, the visible wiring and the mounting hardware. Anything worth your attention comes with a photo.
Before and after notes
You get a short written summary of what we cleaned and what we saw. If your monitoring app shows production, it gives you a fair baseline to compare against next month.

Signs Your Panels Are Due for Cleaning

  • Production has slipped

If your monitoring app shows lower output than the same sunny week last year, a dirty array is one of the first things to rule out.

  • Visible spots from the yard

Bird droppings show up as pale patches you can see from the ground. Each one shades the cells under it and can drag down the whole string.

  • A heavy pollen season

Spring coats everything yellow-green. Light showers tend to smear pollen into a film rather than wash it off.

  • Nearby trees or construction

Overhanging branches drop sap and leaves, and new building nearby kicks up fine dust that settles on the glass for weeks.

  • It has simply been a while

If you can't remember the last cleaning, or never had one, a visit gives you a clean starting point and a look at how the system is holding up.

What Shapes the Cost of a Cleaning

Pricing depends on your array and how we get to it, so we talk it through by phone before booking. You'll know what the visit covers before anyone arrives.

Number of panels

More panels mean more time on the glass. A small array on one roof face is a shorter visit than a large system split across several.

How high and steep the roof is

Panels on a low, shallow roof can be reached quickly with ladders and poles. A second story or a steep face means more safety gear goes up before any washing starts, and that adds time.

How heavy the buildup is

A season of dust rinses away easily. Baked-on droppings, sap or a first cleaning after several years takes longer.

Combining with other work

If you're also having us look at a repair or add battery storage, we can plan the cleaning into the same visit to save a separate trip.

How Cleaning Day Runs

  1. 1

We set the date by phone

We ask about your panel count, roof height and any access notes, then give you a realistic arrival window. You don't need to be home if we can reach the side of the house.

  2. 2

    A call before we arrive

We ring when the crew is on the way. If wind, storms or an earlier job pushes us back, you hear it from us early, along with the new time.

  3. 3

    Early start on hot days

In summer we book mornings when we can. Cool water on sun-baked glass puts stress on it, and a morning roof is safer footing for the crew.

  4. 4

    Wash, rinse, look

We clean each panel, rinse with purified water and inspect as we go. Most homes take a couple of hours, and we protect plantings below from runoff.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough and notes

Before we leave we go over what we found and show you photos of anything worth watching. If repair work makes sense, we explain why and you decide when.

Panel Cleaning Questions

How often should my panels be cleaned?

One or two visits each year suits most systems around here. We often suggest late May or June, once the spring pollen has settled, and a second visit in fall if trees or birds are close by. Your monitoring numbers tell the real story.

Can I just hose them off myself?

A gentle spray from the ground does little harm, but tap water leaves mineral spots and won't shift droppings or sap. The bigger concern is safety: wet glass and a sloped roof make for poor footing, and falls are the real risk of doing it yourself. Please skip pressure washers and household cleaners too, since both can damage the coating on the glass.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

Not usually. We need access to a water spigot or a spot to park our water unit, and a clear way to the side of the house. We'll call before we arrive and go over our notes and photos with you afterward.

What happens if the weather turns on our scheduled day?

A passing shower doesn't always stop us, but lightning, strong wind or a slick roof does. If conditions look poor, we call you as early as we can and offer the next open window rather than leaving you waiting.

Will you tell me if something is wrong with the system?

Yes. If we see cracked glass, loose wiring, damaged mounts or signs of nesting, we photograph it and explain what it likely means. Whether to book solar repair is entirely your call.
